They call and tell you that you owe money for an account you opened 2 years ago. And because it is inactive, you now owe them money.
They will tell you they have a recording of you signing up for their service, but if you ask to listen to it, it is chopped up. They may have called years ago to state they were verifying your company information, then recorded it and spliced it to sound like you answered yes to questions you were never asked.
If they call you, tell them straight out that you know it is a scam. If they insist they have a recording, tell them you are aware of how the "recording" scam works. Tell them you will have your attorney contact them and this number (800) 335-0159 x106 Mr. Potter is the info they will give you.
