When he called them back, they tried to collect debt on an old credit card that had been closed years ago. He disputed the debt with the caller. They demanded a payment today or they would varnish his wages wit a 30% interest rate. My friend requested proof of debt, but only recieved more threats. Finally my friend offered to give our current address for them to serve the court papers, but before he could give the address the man on the phone Hung up. We called the Attorney General of our state to report the scam and confirmed that this scam was huge in the State of Utah which was where our previous address was.

I was at church on Sunday and there was a envelope duct-taped to my door, hand written with my name and husbands and our address. Inside was a letter "Urgent Message" claiming that my vehicle account is in delinquent status. The vehicle they described was parked in my driveway at the time. I don't know who this company/people are but I am checking with my bank as I have never missed a payment and feel this is a scam.
